Dr. Katie Johnson is an Illinois native who began her work in the veterinary field in high school working at her local animal hospital as an assistant and kennel worker. She continued to pursue her dream of becoming a veterinarian by graduating from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine in 2009. Dr. Johnson focuses her clinical skills in surgery but still enjoys the everyday challenge of preventative and internal medicine. In her off time, Dr. Johnson has a special interest in working with wildlife and exotic species.
Wow, this place is amazing! I don’t often get excited about taking my pet to the vet but Arbor is different! The atmosphere is calm and soothing–no anxious animals or people and no chaos (which was often the case at my old vet’s office)!! The staff is friendly, warm and confident. My dog (who is a bit of a nervous-nelly by nature!) was soothed and cooed over by Dr. Dowd and the staff and showed no anxiety whatsoever while she was there! Also, the clinic is run on a very timely schedule. No 45 minute wait times! We were in and out with our Rx filled. A full service operation that was a joy to visit. It was truly an awesome experience for both my puppy and me and we will actually look forward to our next annual exam! Yay! So glad I found Arbor!!
